Peter Stine stitched together some wonderful animations in order to set the Excelsior theme song to music! Marvelous!

Sam Gillis's theme song hardly qualifies as a "fan work," as it sits at the heart of the show! But oh boy do we love it. (Dare we say don't forget to like and subscribe?)

"The Man From Syracuse" famously opens with an... unorthodox... recap, covering a huge range of Star Trek history over the course of seven minutes. Peter Stine decided to match the whole thing to audio, which he did a frighteningly convincing job of!

Check out Cecil Smith's fan video celebrating the release of the Season 3 finale, "The Graceful End"! (WARNING: SPOILERS AHOY!)

This promo video from Bob Hopwood features live instruments, played by the students of Sycamore High School (the Marching War Eagles), conducted by Mr. Andrew Gaskill!

Unproduced Scripts

Over the years, fans and writers alike have written lots of Excelsior scripts, for all kinds of reasons. Although these didn't end up getting produced, they are all a pleasure to read... and, by kind permission of the authors, we are happy to be able to be able to share them with you, too!

"Reunion" by Mike Murphy, 64 pages (honorable mention, 2009 writing contest)

Captain Cortez's home planet, Vulcan, has gone mad... and nobody knows why.

Partials and First Drafts

"Better Angels (abandoned version)" by James Heaney, 37 pages, cuts off abruptly

The notorious abandoned script for the episode that became "E.U.L.A." was much more directly about a civil war... but it was too similar to "Only Murder."

"A Voice in the Dark" by Alexandra Whitley, 39 pages, complete with some holes

This story, pitched soon before the vignette process formally opened up, saw Alex Rol delivering messages from beyond the grave, as the crew is drawn into a dire conspiracy to undermine the Federation.

"Cortez Meets Edith Keeler" by Alexandra Whitley, 4 pages, mostly an outline

Exactly what it says on the tin.

Poetry!

by Garrett Kuest:

Castles fall, and kingdoms clash
No nation can escape the blast,
Of horsehair’s snap and sword’s impact,
Which brings down death, and worse than that.

Yet as hope all but fades to black
Out of the ruins and the ash,
Came salvation, there to clash.

And as they vied with mighty foes, whose power did exceed their own
They felt as using sticks to break up stone.
Yet when most would say the dust they'd bit,
They found out where they should hit,
And hit they did with all their might, and at long last they'd won the fight.

They knew what they had to do, to cast away the endless gloom.
Ever upwards through the haze, they cast it out- yes, none could stay.
Sunlight once more met the ground, and warmed the oceans all around
And as rain alighted on the ground, life at long last did abound.

And though the price was far from cheap, and gave them quite a cause to weep,
They saved the day. No, more than that.
Had spared them all, from endless black.
