A Players' Guide to the World Championship Open Qualifiers

Decipher's Championship Circuit is about to get turned up a few notches! The Open Championships start this June and players will be vying for their place at the World Championships in early November with a chance at the $10,000 World Championship grand prize!
Twelve special World Championship Open Qualifiers around the world will be held between June 1 and September 4, 2001. These events will be host to some of the best players in the world and present some killer opportunities for high-caliber competition. The top two finishers of each Open Qualifier for Star Wars™ CCG, Star Trek™ CCG, Jedi Knights TCG and Young Jedi CCG will receive a bye into Day Two of the World Championships for their hard-fought victories. In addition to this, each of the top eight finishers will receive a trophy as a reminder of their triumph! On top of all of these great reasons to play, the first 75 players to enter one of these tournaments will receive a limited edition promotional card for the game they compete in! Make sure to pre-register with the event you are interested in attending to make sure you get one of these exceptional promotional cards.
The first 75 players who compete for Star Wars CCG will get a Rebel Barrier foil card. Star Trek CCG players will get a Bat'leth foil card. Young Jedi CCG players will get a Droid Starfighter foil card, and Jedi Knights TCG players will get a Vader's Lightsaber • Sith Weapon (6P, right stereoscopic perspective) premium card. This Vader's Lightsaber card is the counterpart to the redemption card from the Star Wars Trilogy VHS boxed set.
Each of these events is being sponsored by a retailer, convention organizer, or approved distributor. They have gone out of their way to help make these events the best they can be, and we are honored to be working with each and every one of them. Here are the 2001 Open Championships:
