It works that way at the other end of the scale, too, as I discovered recently (I think I put this in the new CR). If both players are at or below zero when the game ends, but it is not a true tie (0/0, or -10/-10, say), then the differential is also recorded as +1 and -1. The only time you have a zero differential is for a true tie.
