Last time big ships were rated, this time it will be the small. Klingon Korner I.K.C. K'vort S Cloaking Device, Tractor Beam RANGE 8 WEAPONS 6 SHIELDS 6 This ship is GREAT for massive K'vort attack decks. It can stop most players dead. Have 2 K'vorts work together and keep bringing more out. It has wonderful range, and OK weapons and shields. If you were to put 3 people in three K'vorts, the weapons would be 18 and the shields would be 118 compared with a terrible 9/8/7 of a Vor'cha. The lack of range could be a minor problem (trying to outrun the Future Enterprise), but remember that 5 Bird of preys (one Uncommon) can destroy the federation outpost that the Enterprise came from. Rating 8/10 Federation fanatics U.S.S. Nebula C,S Holodeck, Tractor Beam RANGE 8 WEAPONS 7 SHIELDS 8 Just as good as the Enterprise C with one less crew. This ship is very good for defense, shields and has weapons comparable to the Galaxy. The two people are ok and it could take on any K'vort and at least survive, maybe win! Since the Federation is not into battles, use Attack authorization and Wartime Conditions to bring these guys to power! Rating 7/10 Into the Wormhole Science Vessel - - RANGE 8 WEAPONS 5 SHIELDS 6 Not as good as its counterparts. The one plus is if you put an alliance between Klingons and Romulans and fly it with TARGS! Not many Romulans are without Staff skill so a K'vort would do better in its place. Doesn't even have a Cloaking Device to prevent the Hegh'ta from blowing it to bits. RATING 5/10 Feature Article ---------------------------- DS9 CARDS TOO? by KJKOSBAB ---------------------------- TNG is the only series that is featured on the cards for the Star Trek: The Next Generation CCG, of course. But what if they made Deep Space Nine cards for it as well? Financially, this would be good for Paramount and Decipher (or whoever would be making these cards; I've heard of some kind of contract troubles): the cards generally deal with things that have actually happened on the show, so think of all the new plots, characters, ships, places, etc. that DS9 could bring! Remeber when the Alternate Universe cards were first put out? I think most of us were extremely excited to have more cards to be able to add to our collections, and more power to add to the game (I know it sounds kinda like that corny slogan Decipher has written all over everything, but it's the best I could think of). DS9 cards could be another expansion set. AU is still only using more experiences of TNG...DS9 has 4 more years of episodes, and is still going! You can only do so much with a series before it's used up. Besides all this technical and financial stuff, don't you just think it'd be fun? That's what the CCG really comes down to, isn't it? Star Trek is such a vast phenomenon, and TNG is just part of it. DS9 is set in the same time and [roughly the same] place, so what would be wrong with it? There might even be some way to add Voyager cards as yet another expansion set, but it might be hard (maybe some kind of "doorway" like used in AU, only rather than going to AU, it could go to the Delta Quadrant!). What do you think? If you have *any* opinions on this, please send them to KJKOSBAB@aol.com. Thanks! Note: There is a ST:TNG episode with DS9 on it. It would be possible to use the cards without violating the contract made by Decipher. Nebulas (by Pdmd8) Point 1: I think that there should be more missions with nebulas so Isabella can be useful. Point 2: This article was meant to discuss the debatable class of Nebulas. I think that the actual Nebula class is one of the most efficient Federation starships. Mirandas are the worst because you could get a Runabout with the same power for one less crewmember. My favorite Nebula is the Sutherland. The picture is really neat and it was commanded by data. With one more gold-star necessary than a Merc ship, the ship gets a holodeck (great for the next next expansion). I don't understand why they decreased the shields and the range for the ship unless they wanted to reflect the problem it had in the episode "redemption". With the big weapons pod on the top, they should have made it a 8/8/7 if anything. Of they might have made it a 9/8/7 because if was able to cruise at warp 9.3. Because of the picture, I would put this in my deck over the common one. The Phoenix is very good as well because it has a captain. They only took one off of the range. The one question on my mind is why? Why would the Federation design and modify Nebula class starships to be WORSE? If anythiung, take some weapons off to add to the range factor. Nebulas are supposed to be able to outrun Galaxy class starships, aren't they? Enough said, but if any of those Decipher guys reads this: THE NEBULA IS MY FAVORIT FEDERATION STARSHIP YOU BETTER MAKE A NEW CARD THAT GIVES ALL NON-UNIQUE NEBULA CARDS +8/+9/+7 (or something like that). I would like a "Phoenix" If anyone would be willing to cheaply sell it, I would be greatful!
