Borg Objective Rules Change

If you play the Borg affiliation and have been jealous of non-Borg players' ability to use objective cards like Beware of Q and HQ: Defensive Measures, while you are restricted to one current objective, we have good news for you! In order to allow the Borg access to these cards and others, such as the new Operate Wormhole Relays objective, the designers decided during development of Enhanced First Contact and The Dominion to ease the current objective restriction to cover only [Borg Only] Objective cards.

At first, we felt it was most appropriate in the Enhanced First Contact rules insert - after all, it's a Borg rule. But due to the limited size of the EFC rules insert card, it had to be cut (along with the redefinition of bonus points applying to non-[Borg Only] objectives). Both of those new rules were then moved to The Dominion rule supplement, with the thought that perhaps one or both could move to the Current Rulings instead.

With all the shuffling between the three documents, the current objective rule got somehow separated from the bonus point rule. [Designer's note: As the official cutter-and-paster, I think I have to claim the credit for this one. ;-( -Bill] Unfortunately, we didn't notice the error until both rules documents were at the printer and the December Current Rulings was already published.

And so it slipped through the cracks. You will find this important rules change in neither supplement nor in the December Current Rulings. So that you may begin planning your new Borg decks now, here is the new rule, which will appear formally in the Current Rulings later this month and will take effect on the Enhanced First Contact release date.
The following changes should be made to the Rulebook Glossary:

Borg - (Subsection on Objectives, second paragraph)

When you are playing Borg and you have an uncompleted [Borg Only] Objective card face up in play, this is defined as your current objective. You are limited to one [Borg Only] current objective at a time. You may have any number of non-[Borg Only] objectives in play at a time.

Objectives - (Second paragraph)

A Borg player is limited to one [Borg Only] current objective at a time. See Borg. Any player may have any number of non-[Borg Only] objectives in play at a time.
