DGMA's 2002 Territorial Open Championships
Got an itching for some championship level tournament
action? Here's your chance! DGMA (Decipher Game Management
Authority) is announcing the 2002 Territorial Open
Championships for both The Lord of the Rings™ TCG and
Star Trek™ CCG.
For those who are familiar with Decipher's Championship
Circuit in the past, these events are very similar to the
State Championships of previous years. However, as the name
implies, these tournaments are open to all players. So the
Virginia Open Champion could be a player from Florida.
There will be approximately 120 Territorial Open
Championships for The Lord of the Rings TCG and Star
Trek CCG world-wide. Canadian provinces and U.S. and
Australian states will each have one championship (except
California, which will have two events). Other countries will
have varying numbers of championships, depending on size and
player base.
Territorial Open Championships will take place between May
1, 2002 and June 30, 2002. These one-day events will provide
players with chances to earn prizes as follows:
The Lord of the Rings TCG:
- 1st place - Lord of the Rings TCG Trophy Binder,
Bye into Day 2 of the World Championship, Bye into Day 2 of
the Continental Championship
- 2nd place - Lord of the Rings TCG Trophy Binder,
Bye into Day 2 of the Continental Championship
Star Trek CCG:
- 1st place - Star Trek CCG Trophy Binder, Bye into
Day 2 of the World Championship, Bye into Day 2 of the
Continental Championship
- 2nd place - Star Trek CCG Trophy Binder, Bye into
Day 2 of the Continental Championship
Decipher will be selecting the locations of these events
based on the applications that we get from retailers around
the world. Any interested retailers should click here
to get more information about applying to host a Territorial
Open Championship in their store. Towards the end of April, we
will announce the dates and locations of all of these events.
If you are a player and you want to have one of these
events in your area, talk to your local retailer and direct
them to this article for more information or have them email
tournaments@decipher.com.
