>I have several questions that have come up in local gameplay - any thoughts on these??
> >"Related Equipment" > >One of my players downloaded a whole slew of equipment when he commandeered Empok Nor. He had an Ore Processing Site, but no Infirmiry (don't ask why he didn't dowload it for free - I don't have a clue). But he downloaded both the equipment that gave "each ENGINEER MEDICAL skill" and "each MEDICAL ENGINEER skill" (sorry, don't remember the exact card names) > >I haven't found an entry in the Rulebook, Glossary or CR that covers this. Any ideas. > AFAIK it's under equipment. It defines 'X-related equipment' to be any equipment with X in its game text. Thus, a Medical PADD is ENGINEER-related because it has 'ENGINEER' in its game text. >Also, as a follow-up, could he have downloaded the Breen CRM114 "Breen-zoka" to the Security Site without an arms dealer since it is a download not a report. > Downloading *is* reporting. And the answer is no. The Breen CRM 114 explicitly states that it *only* reports if a Breen or arms dealer is present. > >VR Headsets > >Card states: "Each VR Headset aboard your [DOM] ship allows one Vorta, Jem'Hadar, or Cardassian present to enhance Weapons and Shields +1 and (if Vorta) to serve as matching commander". > >This card implies "cumulative" (Each VR Headset). Does this mean that you can have more than one matching commander for a ship with multiple VR Headsets? > No. First, cumulativity is *never* implied - it's always explicitly marked with the word 'cumulative.' However, it doesn't matter here since different cards (the Vorta, Jem'Hadar, and Cardassians) are providing the effect. More importantly, there's the rule that a ship can only benefit from one matching commander at a time. VR Headset does not override that. >I would think "No" - that the cumulative effect was for the Weapons and Shields. > Right, except cumulativity doesn't enter into it. > >Montana Missile Complex/Phoenix > >The Montana Missile Comple Time Location requires you to play a Phoenix from outside the game. Since the Phoenix has a AU icon, does this require you to have an AU/STP/TMW inplay to allow the Phoenix to arrive in play? > No. It's using its native time location to enter play. >I wouldn't think so, but I haven't found any ruling that says one way or the other. It's in the Glossary under 'time locations.' Taibak |
