Limited Time Offer Expired: USS Jupiter Card No Longer Available In
Activision's Star Trek: Armada Game
Earlier this year, Decipher announced that a premium U.S.S. Jupiter
card had been developed specially for inclusion in each copy ofthe "Star
Trek: Armada" PC game by Activision. Today, Decipher's CCG Customer Service
Manager, Jennifer Ketterman, advises the U.S.S. Jupiter limited time offer
has expired. .
The packaging of the first printing of Activision games bore a sticker
advertising the bonus U.S.S. Jupiter card. According to Activision, the
promotion is over. If you were to survey retail shelves today, you might
find boxes of the product without a "U.S.S. Jupiter card" sticker
(a clear sign you shouldn't expect to find a card inside), or having a
marked through or crossed over sticker (also a very good sign there is
no card inside).
The third option, which some consumers claim to have encountered, is that
a Star Trek: Armada game's packaging is marked with a sticker promising
a card - but there is no card inside. Sad to say, Activision has no cards
in their possession with which to make the offer good. Its response to
consumers is that the offer was for a limited time only and is now expired.
So, if you are buying a Star Trek: Armada game set just to get the card,
proceed with care, because neither Activision nor Decipher can fulfill
the offer.
Trading, or purchasing from a reputable singles dealer, may be the best
way of acquiring the card.
Decipher reserves the right to reprint the U.S.S. Jupiter card and to
make it available in future promotions. None are planned at this time.
