Re: Fair Play and Samaritan Snare ... Major Rakal ... [1/31/99 10:51]
>I posted a rather interesting topic a few days ago about the use of Fair Play on the Federation while attempting Samaritan Snare and although I got some interesting responses (namely using Mission Debriefing to spice things up) the issue was still dodged around as to whether or not the Feds may move away (or cross over) SS to prevent attempting it. I would like to believe that the ship would be trapped there forever, repeatedly attempting the mission but never solving it. Is this true or can the Feds avoid it like you would a nearby Borg Ship?

If a Federation ship stops at Samaritan Snare, it must attempt the mission. (They are not required to stop there when just flying past.) If they become "stopped" during the mission attempt, or if the attempt ends for some other reason, such as Fair Play, they are free to leave on their next turn.
