New Product : Star Trek Customizable Card Game Enhanced First Contact

Never sampled this outstanding expansion? Here's your chance.

With the introduction of the Borg affiliation in the First Contact expansion set, Star Trek CCG gameplay was shaken up, never to be the same. Decipher is excited to announce the next evolutionary step of the Borg and the First Contact expansion, the Enhanced First Contact pack. Four different EFC packs will be available. Each of the four will contain four First Contact black-bordered limited edition expansion packs. In addition, each of the four different EFC packs will contain its own 3 new unique cards, making 12 brand new cards introduced in the product in all. The majority are Borg-related cards, though a few will enhance the Federation affiliation. The Enhanced First Contact pack design will have a die-cut front, revealing the lead card, so that in each display of 12 packs, you will see 3 each of the 4 pack facings. Due on retail shop shelves later this fall, the packs will have a suggested retail price of $14.95 each.

This pack has double benefits. It offers novice players an excellent introduction to an expansion with one quick purchase. If you missed First Contact's initial release, the "feel" of the expansion can be quickly picked up through one or two of these new enhanced packs. And you can't discount what Enhance First Contact cards will do for gameplay. In a general sense, the 12 new premium cards will boost the power of every First Contact card that you add to your decks. Specifically, the 12 cards will make every Borg deck truly "New and Improved."

Bill Martinson, Decipher's Star Trek CCG lead game designer, has this to say about his team's newest product. "We said First Contact changed everything. Enhanced First Contact changes everything just a little bit more! I'm anxious for our players to see how the new cards in this product beef up the Borg affiliation and the new First Contact "bridge crew" personnel, while reigning in current abusive strategies such as multiple Ready Room Door/Assign Mission Specialist combos.

I'm especially excited about the new Borg affiliation cards. Right now the Borg are balanced, yet tricky to play due to their subtlety. New drones and new "verb cards" in Enhanced First Contact will make the Borg an even greater threat, while expanding the number of viable Borg deck types so more players can enjoy assimilating their way to a win."
