Re: Question on Infiltration question below. ... Major Rakal ... [2/10/99 15:10]
>I reread over the infiltration rules in the Dominion and it didn't say anywhere that you lose control of your infiltrator when he/she infiltrates. It said that the personnel becomes part of your opponent's away team, but not that they can use special downloads and such.

Becoming part of your opponent's crew means he controls him, except for the limited control that you retain as specified in the rules.

>If they CAN use special downloads, such as Leyton's download of Flight of the Intruder (assuming the card is in your opponents deck), whose hand would the card go to?

If your opponent controls your infiltrator, he uses the skills on that card. For example, if he attempts a mission with that crew, and the infiltrator chooses to participate, he cannot withhold the use of a skill for passing a dilemma. You either let him participate in the attempt or you don't, but short of playing an interrupt *between* dilemmas, you have no further control over the use of that personnel in that mission attempt. So if your opponent uses his special download skill, you can't prvent it. He must have the card in his own deck, though; he uses the infiltrator *as his own* personnel, and he can never download from your deck. The card from a special download never goes into anyone's hand. Special downloads *must* be played immediately. If it is not possible to play it, you can't do the download.

>Also, if your opponent controls the card now, can you use the special download? Who has control of this ability? Me? My opponent? Both of us? This is going to create a lot of complications if your opponent can use your special downloads.

SD's are once per game per player. Each player gets to use a specific personnel's special download once during a game. If each of you has Alyssa Ogawa in play, each of you can special download a Medical Kit (or whatever it is she downloads). While your opponent controls your infiltrator, he gets to use the special download (if he has the card to download) once during the game, just as if he had that personnel in play himself to start with. If the infiltrator reverts to your control by being exposed, you are now using it as your own and you can still use the special download once yourself.

> I thought the whole point of Leyton's download is that when he is discovered as an infiltrator, he can "fly away" as he did in the episode. (I know Trek sense doesn't allways apply, but in this case it at least should)

>Anyway, my question is has there been a ruling that modified the Dominion rules to allow your opponent control of your personnel?

Nothing has been modified. That's what being part of the opponent's Away Team means--he controls them.
