Corky,

I understand your plight - when Decipher first changed over to the tournament foils, my players were extreamly disappointed.  However, my two TD's - Mike Harrison and Jerry Jackson - came up with a solution that has kept everyone happy.  When they get in prize support after the tournament, they put one up for auction on eBay and keep one foil for prize support. Since most tournament foils go for at least $40 online, we wind up beng able to fund about half a box per tournament, plus the remaining foil.  That has really made a difference for our players, who now complain that other CCG tournaments aren't as generous with prize support.

Hope this helps...

I'm sorry to report that, for about 85% of the people I've talked to, it's
Decipher's prize support policies that have killed off the scene.  2 foil
cards, limited edition or not, are simply not enough of an inducement for
people to carve four hours out of a weekend to play in tournaments. And, as
creative as I might be, and even supplementing with my own stock, hasn't
helped.  This has, for the time being, turned into a collector's only
market.
