EASTER EGGS! Paul Rice - AU Next to the copyright line on the side of the card, "Paul is dead" is written backwards, a reference to many Beatles' albums that, when played backwards, supposedly said "Paul is dead." Ironically, the character Paul Rice was dead in the episode. The image on the card is a holographic re-creation of Paul. Data's Body - QC Decipher's artists thought Data was in need of a little assistance, so they added a helpful suggestion to the rear panels of the transporter chamber: "Call 911." Systemwide Cascade Faiure - QC As an homage to noted science fiction author Isaac Asimov, the art department etched his last name into Lal's circuitry as "AZIMOV". Note the flipped "S" a subtle reference to the [S]ystem-wide cascade failure affecting Lal? Data's Medals - QC In the picture of the medals you can see a "reflection" of Gene Roddenberry. Aldebaran Serpent - QC The translucent sphere forming the serpent's body reminded the art department of the Good Witch of the North from The Wizard of Oz, so they added the name "Glinda?" to the turbolift doors. Berlingoff Rasmussen - AU The actor who played Rasmussen, Matt Frewer, also played Max Headroom, Coke spokesman and short-lived TV series star. On Rasmussen's sweater, you can make out the letters M, A, and X, a reference to Frewer's previous role. Yellow Alert - AU, WARP The number "07734" appears in corner of screen. If you look at that number upside down (especially on a calculator), it says "hello." Red Alert - PREM The number "23510" appears in the corner of screen. 23510 is the ZIP Code of Decipher's office. Interphasic Plasma Creatures - AU In the corner of the computer screen, you can read: "DANSWERMAN@DECIPHER.COM." This is the former email account of majorrakal@decipher.com, Decipher's Star Trek: CCG question-and-answer entity. Phaser Burns - AU The person in this picture is wearing a patch on his arm showing the name "Dan Burns." Dan was Decipher's art director and the man responsible for the incredibly high quality of the images on their cards. In his modesty, however, Dan made the patch so small that it is barely legible! Rascals - AU The label above the entrance to the Jefferies Tube reads "You must be this high to ride this ride," a reference to such signs at theme parks. (The crew of Star Trek: The Next Generation also put a lot of gag signs like this around the ship, although this particular sign was created by Decipher's art department.) Royale Casino: Blackjack - AU The poker chip on the left bears the number "253," a reference to Decipher's 253 Granby Street address (now 259!). Frigid - QC Tasha's hair contains the words "White X-Mas," a reference to the song "White Christmas" made famous by Denise Crosby's grandfather, Bing Crosby (this is very difficult to read!). Jealous Amanda - QC Amanda's belt contains the words "POTION #9," a reference to the song "Love Potion Number 9" by the Clovers (this seems lost in the printing process!). Mandarin Bailiff - QC The red "AIDS" ribbon appears on the bailiff's staff. Mona Lisa - QC The image of a Federation Shuttle appears in the right hand painting background. Mr. Homn - QC Mr. Homn is portrayed by actor Carel Struyken, who also played the role of Lurch in the Addams Family films. The Lurch character is perhaps best known for his signature line "You rang?," used when somebody came to the door. Mr. Homn's robe bears the words "YOU RANG" hidden in the flower pattern. (Decipher also snuck the word "lurching" into Mr. Homn's lore!) Timicin - QC Dr. Timicin is played by actor David Ogden Stiers, who is well known for his role of Charles Emmerson Winchester III on the hit series M*A*S*H. Winchester was stationed at unit 4077, so Decipher added these digits to the door frame behind Timicin (lost in the printing process!).
